CPR FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS COURSE
The CPR for Family & Friends course teaches you CPR skills. It will teach you the importance of your role in the Chain of Survival to save a life. Instructors will assist and give individual attention throughout the practice sessions of the course. The atmosphere of the class is generally very relaxed to help promote a positive and enjoyable learning experience. This course is ideal for anyone interested in learning the basic skills involved in CPR. The course will take approximately 2 hours to complete and with the knowledge and skills you learn in this course you can increase the chance of survival for victims of life-threatening emergencies.
HEARTSAVER CPR COURSE
The Heartsaver CPR course is a comprehensive course for the lay responder and is particularly useful for those expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace. It is designed to teach you CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction and goes into more depth than the CPR For Family & Friends course. The Course takes approximately 4 hours and you will receive an Irish Heart Foundation / American Heart Association course completion card upon successfully completing the course
HEARTSAVER AED COURSE
The Heartsaver AED Course teaches you the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the relief of choking for adults, children and infants. An AED is a computerised defibrillator which analyses the heart rhythm of a person in cardiac arrest and uses voice prompts to advise you if a shock is needed. The AED is an important link in the chain of survival and this course teaches you how to use them effectively. The Heartsaver AED Course takes approximately 4½ hours to complete and you will receive an Irish Heart Foundation / American Heart Association course completion card upon successfully completing the course.
CARDIAC FIRST RESPONSE (CFR) RESPONDER COURSE
The CFR Responder Course taught by the Irish Heart Foundation includes the Heartsaver AED Course (please see above) plus additional modules. These include the administration of aspirin, stroke assessment (FAST Assessment), critical incident stress awareness, Cardiac First Responder Report (CFRR) and legal indemnity issues. The CFR Responder Course takes approximatley 6 hours to complete and you will recieve an Irish Heart Foundation / Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) CFR Responder course completion card in addition to a Heartsaver AED course completion card upon successfully completing the course.
