The Happy Heart Catering Award in association with the HSE Dublin North East is a programme developed by the Irish Heart Foundation, the Health Promotion Unit of the Department of Health and Children and North Eastern Health Board, to help encourage healthy food choices in a healthy environment when eating out/away from home.

The aim of the award is:
To encourage restaurants, hotels, pubs and workplaces to provide and promote healthy food choices in a healthy environment. It is also hoped that the award will encourage customers to make healthier food choices and help them appreciate the benefits of a healthy environment.

 

 Criteria includes: 

  • Provision of healthy food choices
  • Compliance with food safety legislation
  • Compliance with the legislation banning smoking in workplaces
