Health Checks
The Irish Heart Foundation has been conducting heart health checks in companies for 35 years. A heart health check takes approximately 30 minutes per person and all employees will receive an individual heart health record card with results and recommendations by Irish Heart Foundation trained nurses. Consultations are performed in a private setting and an appropriate room on site is required per nurse.
The Heart Health Check includes:
- Blood pressure check.
- Cholesterol check (optional).
- Glucose check (optional).
- Weight measurement: includes Waist Measurement and Body Mass Index.
- Overall individual assessment and tailored information and recommendations on healthy eating, physical activity, alcohol consumption, and stress. Information leaflets will be given to the employees. View information leaflet
- Carbon monoxide check (for smokers) and advice on quitting smoking
- Personal record card of all tests and advice. GP referral if necessary. Download your heart health record card
Cost
For all the above including cholesterol test and glucose test the cost is: €600 per nurse to check 12 employees; €1200 for 2 nurses to check 24 employees. Mileage expenses apply@ 63 cents/mile over 20 miles.
If you opt not to include the cholesterol test the cost is: €300 per nurse, €600 for two nurses. Mileage expenses apply @ 63 cents/mile over 20 miles

Health Awareness Day
A health awareness day is one of the support services provided through the Happy Heart at Work programme and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of a given company. During a health awareness day an Irish Heart Foundation nurse will be available to meet staff at a health information stand and provide heart health advice on blood pressure, cholesterol and other risk factors for heart disease. Employees will receive health information leaflets on Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Physical Activity, Good Eating, Lose Weight and Stress.

Cost
€300 for 4 hours (excluding travel expenses over 20 miles).
You will incur additional costs if you require additional nurses or additional services.
